Amber Susa Jewett and Christine Crivello are South Bay locals with a unique approach to health and fitness. “We let you be you,” they tell us. “We’re all about you, your body type and how to work up the perfect workout plan to get you where you want to be and keep you there–whether you’re a mom, a fitness fanatic, an athlete, a working professional or a newbie.” HIP Studio offers five different kinds of classes to customize a plan that’s right for you.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE POTENTIAL CLIENTS TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
“All of our instructors have their Pilates certification in addition to other fitness certifications. We take our clients’ health and safety very seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We want to create a sense of community and fun! Bright colors. Hip sounds. Lots of smiles!”
DO YOU OFFER DIET AND NUTRITION ASSISTANCE?
“Yes! We teamed up with local nutritionists to create our Hip to be Healthy Detox, a seven-day program that helps our clients eat clean, boost their energy and increase their overall health and fitness. The results are undeniable.”
HOW DO YOU GIVE BACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY?
“We’re planning a Zumba dance fitness party for Breast Cancer Awareness, and we’re working with The Friendship Circle of the South Bay, a non-profit organization dedicated to making a dramatic difference in the lives of children and young adults with special needs.”
HIP Studio Pilates in Hermosa Beach Heating Up with HIP 90-Day Challenge
HIP Studio (High Intensity Pilates) in Hermosa Beach is helping members meet their New Year’s goals with the HIP 90-Day Challenge which began February 4, 2013 and runs through April 29, 2013. With the Challenge, clients who do Pilates in South Bay, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, and Hermosa Beach have the incentive they need to meet their fitness goals.
Hermosa Beach, CA, February 15, 2013 – HIP Studio (High Intensity Pilates) in South Bay has created a 90-Day Challenge as a way to motivate clients to set and reach realistic fitness goals. The Challenge runs from February 4, 2013 – April 29, 2013. It began right after the super bowl and runs for 90 days, ending just before Easter. While it can be relatively easy to set healthy lifestyle goals, sticking to the plan and reaching the goals can be more challenging. Clients doing Pilates in Hermosa Beach can join the HIP program and track their points on a daily basis.
At HIP Studio, the idea is that not only will sticking to one’s goals bring success, but prizes have been added to the mix to help incentivize the program. 75 people have signed up for the HIP Challenge, and the person receiving the most points wins a three month membership to HIP Studio. In addition, all the challengers have been grouped into three teams that will be competing for an additional team prize. Clients participating with Pilates in South Bay started by recording initial measurements, body fat index, and weight as well as by taking “before” photographs to begin the challenge.
Owner Christine Crivello stated, “We were inspired to create the HIP 90-Day Challenge last month when we were writing our monthly newsletter. We gave our clients the HIP Resolution Check List to help set them up for success in achieving their fitness and nutrition goals.” Co-owner Amber Susa Jewett continued, “We had given them the tools, but we wanted to help them implement these tools into their daily lives. We created this challenge based on a point system for clean eating and fit living. The studio has been buzzing with positive energy and healthy competition. We continue to be amazed at the dedication and commitment of our HIPsters!”
Points for both workouts and clean eating are earned on a daily basis and are calculated on the honor system. Clients are encouraged to do daily workouts and are given a list of foods that are considered “clean” to help them calculate their daily points.
