Set Your Bar

Every year the heath fitness industry sees a boom at the start of the new year. As early as late January, serious goals can start to fall away. It doesn’t matter if you are getting back on the wagon or hitching a ride for the first time, we want you to be successful! The first step is to set realistic goals. Not everyone can be a size 2 and six pack abs take a ton of work. Exercising 7 days a week is unattainable for most people with full time jobs and full time families, but if you want to fit into your skinny jeans by your birthday by becoming a full time HIP member, that might be something you can accomplish. Get specific and add a timeline. 10lbs by your trip to Hawaii, or down two sizes by the family reunion, it wouldn’t be a race if there weren’t a finish line. Even if you want to transform your body by the year’s end, set up little goals throughout 2013 as your stepping stones of success.

After you’ve set your goal, let it be known! If you tell no one, you will be offered countless temptations and without a support group to fall back on. We all want our loved ones to be healthy, so share your resolution with your favorite cheerleader.

Next, set up your reward system. Massages, a Lululemon splurge, trips, and adventures. Treat yourself. Getting to enjoy the reward is just the cherry on top of reaching the goal, and it will keep you going so you can set the next one.

If you need help with your fitness goals, the trainers at HIP are always happy to guide the way.
