Though power yoga classes can vary widely from teacher to teacher, they will most likely appeal to people who are already quite fit, and enjoy exercising.  Prepare to work hard and work up a sweat. I have been teaching yoga for 14 years and offer variety on the yoga poses and stretches you may be familiar with.

Yoga means union, or connecting breath to movement. Power yoga, in which movement is synchronized to the breath, is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes.  The breath becomes an important component because the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. Expect strong consistent movement, not just stretching.

On Saturday, I will teach the basic yoga postures that we will work on in the class, along with modifications and variations that will make this class perfect for you!

This class is a donation based class and will be offered FOR YOU, and you may find that this is the perfect compliment to your weekly HIP classes. Please sign up at the studio for class.  Two classes are offered and hopefully you can attend one!

You’ll also be able to do many activities with ease, that less active people find difficult. But beginners who are interested in Pilates in South Bay might be intimidated at the idea of doing complex, unfamiliar exercises--and with other people! They might think that being overweight or a beginner means that Pilates isn’t the exercise for them.

It’s understandable that starting out a new exercise program can be scary for many people, especially if they haven’t exercised in a long time and are just starting out on their path of healthy living. The good news is that Pilates workouts are designed for people of all fitness levels to participate in. Whether you’re a beginner or have been working out for many years, the techniques developed for Pilates result in health benefits for people of every fitness level. What if you don’t know what to expect? It’s perfectly okay to show up to your first Pilates class not exactly knowing what’s going to happen. Preparing for your first Pilates class As with any good workout, you’re going to get sweaty and thirsty during your Pilates class. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water and a hand towel (although most often, towels are provided by your instructor). If you tend to sweat a lot, you might want to take along a headband. Tie up or clip long hair. Depending on your specific class, you may need to wear a good pair of workout shoes, or special non-slip tread socks that your instructor can tell you where to find. Finally, it’s always a good idea to talk to your doctor to be sure you’ll be safe taking a Pilates class. Your instructor can answer any of your questions before beginning Pilates in South Bay.

As a beginner, you’re taking an important step toward improving your health and losing weight. The most important things to learn about starting Pilates in South Bay are to not give up, and to start easy and build up your endurance. As you learn more with each class, you’ll improve with the Pilates movements and techniques. Soon you’ll also start to notice improvements in your weight and overall well-being. After you’ve been doing Pilates for a little while, you won’t have to call yourself a beginner anymore!
